Summary: Construction began in 2008 and was completed in January 2010.  The project included the construction of a 150-bed facility comprised of six, 25-bed units with patient care, staff support areas and ancillary functions. The new facility is approximately 150,000 square feet.  The hospital will utilize space from existing campus buildings to provide administration, dietary and material management functions.

In December 2010 it was announced that WMHI was awarded USGBC’s LEED Silver certification.  SWA contributed to this project in several different areas but was able to deliver a very valuable LEED point for certified wood.  This was the first project SWA completed using certified wood products manufactured in our millwork facility in Nashville, Tennessee.  Today we see numerous projects run through our company using certified wood products.  SWA received a chain of custody certificate from the Forestry Stewardship Council in 2008. Click here to learn more about FSC and how SWA can contribute in other ways to your next green building project.
